LAND AND MIXED-USE DEVELOPMENT

It takes a company with vision and experience to understand the value of developing or repositioning large tracts of urban, suburban or industrial land.

The professionals of Columbus Properties, L.P. have a generation’s worth of personal vision and experience that transformed a major downtown business district, capitalized on the strength of an industrial park on the nation’s major inland waterway, and recognized the vitality of an office park in the oil patch.

From vacant land to mixed-use projects, the company is committed to repositioning through master planning and by achieving the proper combination of land use and design to help attain the highest potential market value.

One major example is the repositioning of a 54 acre development site in downtown New Orleans adjacent to the Mississippi River and the New Orleans Exhibition Hall. Largely abandoned when river cargo could be moved more efficiently elsewhere, this land laid dormant until the Columbus Properties team worked with the city, neighborhood groups and business interests to develop a master plan for fulfillment. More than one-third of the plan is now in development (Phase One), creating a vital community in an instant. The site is the most exciting development acreage in the city and critical to the future success of the City of New Orleans and the adjacent Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. This plan will include high-rise office buildings, major hotels, a broad array of entertainment and restaurant opportunities and planned low-rise and high-rise residential developments.
